  • Untitled Painting no 10

    £850.00

Acrylic and emulsion on paper laid on board.

Painting on a large scale is very important to me. Although I paint a greater amount of smaller works, I see them mostly as studies for my larger paintings. I would like to paint in an even larger scale in the future – its a challenge I welcome. This painting is an emotional response to my childhood growing up in Kingston upon Hull. The memories are of brutalist and functional architecture, roads and flyovers, streets, pavements and railway lines. A visually fascinating and exciting place to be!

I would like to paint in an even larger scale in the future – its a challenge I welcome. This painting is an emotional response to my childhood growing up in Kingston upon Hull. The memories are of tower blocks, streets and passage ways in the area around my early childhood school – an incredibly interesting and atmospheric area.

I would like to paint in an even larger scale in the future – its a challenge I welcome. This painting is an emotional response to my childhood growing up in Kingston upon Hull. The memories are of brutalist and functional architecture, walls and fences – I found them interesting and exciting! I was surrounded by comfort, security and love, a contrast to the environment maybe.
