  • Earth Goddess 2

    £150.00

Acrylic and coloured pencil on canvas panel (framed).

Painting in miniature is a great way to test ideas and compositions before committing to larger canvases. I enjoyed painting at this size so much that I created a large series of miniatures as final paintings in their own right. Earth Goddess 2 is an alternative painting from my Zodiac series, based on the star sign Virgo. The colours are painted in “reverse”, or inversely, and the lines drawn are drawn in negative space. This is a favourite technique of mine, and appears frequently in my paintings.

  • Earth song (Dorset)

    £620.00

Oil on aluminium panel (framed). Inspired by the land near my home in Dorset.  I’d been walking my dog in the rain and the water was channelling off the fields, babbling like streams.  And it was like music!  A white wood frame complements this piece. 37cm x 48cm

  • Eclipse

    £450.00

Acrylic and copper with matt gel medium on canvas.

I wanted to paint the beauty of an eclipse. I am inspired by the relationship that native Americans had with the sun.

The sun symbol represents life- giving abundance with its warmth radiating healing and peace. There is always light surrounding the darkness.

Acrylic and ink on paper (framed).

The circle as a single brush stroke is a long standing tradition in Japan and not only an act requiring a great deal of concentration from the artist! In Japanese culture the circle is a symbol of strength, elegance and unity between the body and the mind – a symbol of harmony.

  • Europa

    £475.00

Acrylic painting with copper, champagne gold, silver and variegated silver leaf on canvas

Acrylic, copper , gold, silver and variegated silver leaf on canvas.

This piece was inspired by one of the moons orbiting Jupiter. It is often known as Jupiter II and is the smallest of the four Galilean moons which orbit Jupiter. It is also the 6h closest to the planet of all the 79 known moons of Jupiter and the 6th largest moon in the Solar system.

It was named after the Phoenician mother of King Minos of Crete and lover of Zeus.

Europa has a red silicate surface and an ice crust. The copper and blue variegated leaf on the moon reflect those elements.

The back space of the piece is painted with a matt gel medium Hague Blue with a light fade.

  • Facing II

    £250.00

Oil and Mixed media on canvas.

During Lock down I was unable to travel to my studio so I decided to build on my miniature paintings from my ‘lockdown studio’ aka – the kitchen table

Working on a miniature scale has been a great way to experiment with new approaches and materials. I have painted many of these and they have become part of my ‘Moments of being’ series – they’re visual expressions of moments; emotions and musings on daily life
