  • Catalyst 1

    £1,950.00

Acrylic on canvas (framed)Another favourite Lockdown theme of mine: foxgloves.

At a time when there was little life around, I relied on whatever was growing in the garden to fill my sketchbooks. Foxgloves are graceful yet at the same time can be quite unruly and an interesting subject matter. I’ve painted these using many colour combinations and techniques over the past few years, but they really came into their own during lockdown.

These large versions became known as “catalysts” because of the way they initiated so much inspiration for me during lockdown. A wood floater frame complements this piece.

Acrylic and collage on canvas (framed).

  • Check in III

    £490.00

Mixed media monotype on canvas.  This piece along with Zeit Geist II is part of a series on heads / portrait images I made on the theme ‘watching you, watching me’. This is a glimpse into a brief encounter, a passing moment viewing and communicating through screens. I built these up in layers of ink paint and printed pattern.

  • Coffee Pot and Dahlias II

    £1,200.00

    Oil on board (framed).

I set up a photo of the still life initially.  It was painted at the end of the summer with the last of the dahlias from my garden and some of my favourite vases.

I wanted to try and capture the joy of all the components talking to each other.

  • District Painting no 4

    £425.00

    Acrylic on board (framed).

My paintings are heavily influenced by memory and experiences and also by people and places. This piece deals with vivid  memories of the area in which I grew up which was Hull – a place I found very exciting and interesting.  I’m drawing on memories and emotions to inform my visual language and express largely emotional responses through the use of vaguely representational elements and motifs.

  • District Painting no 8

    £425.00

Acrylic on paper laid on board (framed).

My paintings are heavily influenced by factors such as memories, experiences, people and places and I continually revisit and rework these themes. This piece is based on memories of the East Yorkshire coastline. The search for meaning is very much part of the creative process for me.
