  • Path to the Cove

    £695.00

    by Angela Murray

Acrylic  and silver leaf on linen. Working with heavily applied , almost impasto in some areas and thin, transparent washes in other areas is how I like to build my paintings. These atmospheric landscapes attempt to capture the vistas and views of my native Ireland with the hues that can be so intense right through the year. Work is often embellished with gold and silver leaf which I use to reference fauna and foliage and I also embrace the fabric of my canvas in the raw linen which is my surface of choice, sized and primed often leaving the edges visible and unframed ready to hang.

  • Pneuma

    £1,850.00

Mixed media on canvas. Pneuma means breath, spirit or soul in Greek. Through the slow and meditative process of creating this painting I hoped to breathe life into the materials, and instil it with its own spirit, or essence.

  • Reflecting

    £3,400.00

Oil and mixed media on canvas . Reflecting is an underlying theme in all my work.

‘There will be time, there will be time  To prepare a face to meet the faces that you meet;’ T.S Eliot

The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock

Preparing a face to suit and deal with the many social situations and predicaments we encounter

I work in layers – I’m very much a builder and an excavator. Intent overlaps accident imbuing the surface with a sense of history and mystery. I work by building up layers then strip, sand or scrape them away. I like it when earlier traces of paint underneath are exposed.

  • Regents Park Beyond

    £525.00

Watercolour and gold leaf on paper (framed) There is a wonderful boating pond in Regents Park, gentile among the deep greens of the trees and the light of London beyond, a dipping pond where birds and wildlife are rather undisturbed by the human life that passes through – beautiful spot and one of those wonderful gems that London offers up across its parks. This delicate watercolour has precious gold leaf applied adding geometry against the lines of colour that saturate this small painting. Its a treasure of a work and captures all of the elements that drive my paintings

  • Ruminating

    £850.00

Oil, graphite on paper (framed). The multi-faceted head fluctuating or swinging back and forward like a pendulum is a recurring theme in my work. I like to paint in thin layers with rollers over a drawing, using rapid sweeping motions, making marks that swing back and forth like a pendulum. My intention in this painting is to describe a cycle, battling with the inner voice and making up one’s mind.
