  • A Night Place

    £1,900.00

    by Emma Hartley

Oil on canvas (framed)  All my work is influenced by the light, the time and the place. They are glimpses of landscape, strongly influenced by my memories of journeys, sometimes walking in the Hampshire countryside around my home or on travels abroad that culminate in the identity of the paintings.   In this piece the viewer is encouraged to wander through this dreamy landscape/seascape, that captures the moonlight in the mid ground.

  • Are You With Me?

    £550.00

    by Marc Bodie

Charcoal and pastel portrait on paper (framed) . As with the majority of my portrait work I use myself as the model, purely for convenience. I like to exaggerate and change my features ie bigger nose, longer face etc and this keeps it fresh and more interesting for me – I become other characters.  This is one of those such pieces. I love the direct contact of the eye with us i’m many artworks and specifically for me it is Rembrandt who did this so well.  In this piece he is questioning us – maybe a mix of hope , impatience or desperation- read as you will. What is his story?  A black frame complements this piece

  • Chorus

    £600.00

Porcelain, slip, glaze sculpture A mélange of ideas came together into this playful piece. This sculpture was hand built in stoneware clay in to which I’ve pressed and carved fabric textures and pattern. I wanted to create something theatrical My fan celebrates theatrical display, gesture and social interaction   The structure is based on a hand held ornate fan. The original purpose of hand fans was to create a breeze, used for protection against rain, for salutations, signals, to punctuate sentences, – it was also used to conveying secret messages and to hide behind.

    £2,400.00

Acrylic, oil, graphite, pastel and collage on canvas. Music, layers of everyday life and the residue of experience inspired this painting I built up the surface using a medley of embossed and printed-papers in layers (mostly from my old printed proofs) to form the composition before I applied paint. I wanted to create an atmosphere of sound and the whirring of a mind absorbed in a moment of reflection.

Work is often embellished with gold and silver leaf which I use to reference fauna and foliage and I also embrace the fabric of my canvas in the raw linen which is my surface of choice, sized and primed often leaving the edges visible and unframed ready to hang.

Pen on paper. This piece was named after a song title by The Smiths.  I like to express not only the emotional side of life in my artwork but also those little awkward moments/situations we can find ourselves in. This grey area that sits uncomfortably between impatience and indecision or maybe irritation even confusion of when others are going to act on what they call “Now” when you rely a quick decision. The character could be just trying to keep calm at a difficult moment in his life?  What is his story?  A black frame complements this piece

    £5,500.00

    by Cara Wassenberg

Copper leaf globe sculpture with 0.8mm copper sheet leaves , all hand textured , folded and formed. All the leaves are riveted on to a stainless steel frame. It has been lacquered and will retain its copper tones for some time. Gradually some patina will develop. The design and making of the Leaf globe series was inspired by walks during snowy winters when my children were young. We would make huge snowballs by rolling them round and round in the field near our cottage. The last few turns peeled up the last of the snow and any twigs and leaves that lay on the grass below. The leaves incorporated in the globes are Sycamore, English and American Oak, Hawthorne, Fern and Bamboo. The Globe has two spikes from the base 10mm in diameter 20cm long that can be sunk in to a lawn or a concrete base.
