Jaro Hrustalenko

His creativity is driven by a passion for colour, shape, sheer impression of momentum and composition.

Jaroslav Hrustalenko is an internationally renowned artist originally from Urkraine and now based in Alton, Hampshire. He has been engaged in creative practice and 3D design as well as in teaching and making art ceramics professionally since 1989.


Jaroslav constantly explores the natural world, fine art, science, music and dance, building his body of work on a broad multicultural background. He has lived and worked in numerous exotic countries around the world: Ukraine, Hungary, Slovenia, Macedonia, Croatia, Kenya and Taiwan – to name but a few. This bright and diverse cultural experience further informs his latest body of work.

In his pursuit of perfection Jaroslav has developed a distinctive and individual style, remaining true to his original ideas and aspirations. In his studio Jaroslav does not require any advanced equipment. He much prefers to rely on his own hands and the most basic tools.


Jaroslav Hrustalenko holds an MA in 3D design and a BA in Fine Art. He is also a selected member of the Craft Potters Association (CPA), which is the national body in the UK representing ceramic artists.


Jaroslav has exhibited widely both in group and solo shows in the UK and abroad. He has participated regularly in selected international artistic symposia and conferences. has also completed several large scale commissions on product design and protocol gifts for major international clients. He is a tutor and the author of several publications. His artworks are held in numerous private collections worldwide.
