Emma Johnson’s functional homeware pieces take inspiration from Brutalist architecture, incorporating heavy and angular forms alongside design philosophies embodied in the architecture, including form follows function and truth to materials.

Pieces are designed to stack in different sculptural combinations, and feature a tactile combination of glazed and unglazed stained porcelain. Since graduating from 3D Design and Craft at the University of Brighton in 2016 Emma has been creating and developing work from her studio at Phoenix Art Space in Brighton.
