  • Bronze vessel 15

    £350.00

Bronze vessel in cast bronze – part of the Bronze elements collection.

This collection draws inspiration from the incomplete narrative and the ambiguity present in the ancient artifacts of our lost civilizations.  There is an emphasis on organic distortion, as part of the never- ending investigative process, where the properties of the materials and  the casting process more than often craft the direction and evolution of the final piece.  Like a found relic no matter the size, beauty is always going to be found in the most inconspicuous and overlooked details.

  • Burnt Orange

    £350.00

Mixed media on canvas. The surface is heavily textured and built up over many layers. Through the contrast of darkness and light I wanted this painting to capture a certain mood and atmosphere, whilst also having a sense of drama.

Collage of Hampstead Heath lake on enlarged digital photograph .

I spend a lot of time people watching and, after an afternoon on Hampstead Heath, I started this collage.

Inspired by a bit of daydreaming and a watching people enjoying the lake and the environment around it.

The view didn’t capture the London skyline so I collaged it in and Voilà.

A black wood frame complements this piece.

  • Caprice

    £1,350.00

Hand painted Collagraph monoprint. This is a Collagraph which is a printmaking process in which various materials are applied to a ‘plate’ a rigid surface such as (in this case) a gessoed panel. I paint directly on my print plates with carborundum grits, I score and gouge out areas then sand back; I apply varnish, enamel paint, textured pastes and collage; it is a prolonged process of concealment and discovery. The plate was hand inked and painted before printing onto paper through a heavy pressInspired by the celebrity world, costume drama, a touch of Alexander McQueen and the words of the American Poet – Carolyn Kizer Images from fashion magazines combined with studies of ancient statues displayed in museums have been a great source of reference material for this work. I constructed this image out of carborundum and acrylic pastes and ‘dressed’ her in a costume that was built up from a combination of net curtains and wallpaper impressions – everyday ordinary patterns made extraordinary, exotic and other worldly. Her costume decorates, conceals, disguises and protects her – like a mask“Our masks, always in peril of smearing or cracking,In need of continuous check in the mirror or silverware,Keep us in thrall to ourselves, concerned with our surfaces”Carolyn Kizer
