  • Turf at Sunset, Donegal

Acrylic and gold leaf on linen (unframed) County Donegal is a wild and exceptionally beautiful part of Ireland, bordering North andSouth of the island. Much of my painting is preoccupied with the Wild Atlantic Way where the mighty North Atlantic seas crash against the coastline and peatland and water seamlessly blend in the most honest of landscapes. This painting captures both and is often the case with my work, deep horizons knit it all together with textures of precious gold leaf capturing the unique light patterns.

    • Two Beach Huts

      by Keith Busby

Gouache on recycled paper (framed). Walking the dogs on a beach on a lovely sunny morning with a clear blue sky Cornwall was twinned with California and this influenced my palette for this painting. The beach hut is an old life guard observation post perched on the rocks that frame the beach. I  noticed a piece of debris buried in the sand that looked like the remains of a second beach hut that had been washed away. A black wood frame complements this piece.

Collage on board (framed)-One from my postcard series.

I found a book on Canaletto, in a little second-hand Bristol bookshop, and used fragments of it in collages for weeks. I could spend hours in an old bookshop.

As I felt guilty about cutting up such a great book, I bought another from Amazon (which I cut up-this often happens).

The composition of this little piece just evolved through playing with different ideas. No doubt it will have a different narrative to different people.

To me, it’s about travel, romance and the unexpected (with some nostalgia).

A black wood frame complements this piece.

The Style of a bygone age has always appealed to me, in particular the 1920’s. The carved lines on the marcel wave and eyelashes, give this piece a rawness echoed in it’s Hollywood glamour.

This piece is available in three different limited edition variants, all unframed:

Colour block linocutoriginal hand painted artwork – 33cmx18cm £495

      Giclee prints – 80cm x 40cm £350, 150cm x 75cm £600 (*special order)

These prints display great accuracy and depth of colour, ensuring faithful reproductions of originals with vivid and saturated colours and will outlast a lithographic print by up to six times.

      Aluminium substrate prints  – 80cm x 40cm £700

These are printed on to an aluminium surface. The finish is a refined matte one lending the brighter portions of the picture a light sheen. The printing technique produces vivid colours and sharp details while the surface creates a unique artistic finish. The substrate board is backed with a black aluminium frame moulding which gives the appearance of a “floating” artwork.

    • Warhol Paste up

Collage on enlarged digital photograph (framed).

Barcelona is one of my favourite cities and while other people took photos of architecture (I did some of that too) I was more drawn to the backstreets and street art.

This photo shows just part of a wall of graffiti which had layers of textures and colours. I love the accidental images that appear on walls like this.

Working with this idea, I added collage detail which marries up an old black and photo from a second-hand book with an iconic Andy Warhol image.

A black wood frame complements this piece.
