    Unique stoneware ceramic with glaze.

    ‘Hector’ was inspired by my studies of the male torso and also fragmented forms from the Antiquities.

    His gentle lean to the right gives a slight sense of movement to the form. For this sculpture I chose a rich dark blue glaze to emphasis his anatomy.

    This collection draws inspiration from the incomplete narrative and the ambiguity present in the ancient artifacts of our lost civilizations.  There is an emphasis on organic distortion, as part of the never- ending investigative process, where the properties of the materials and  the casting process more than often craft the direction and evolution of the final piece.  Like a found relic no matter the size, beauty is always going to be found in the most inconspicuous and overlooked details.
