Original hand painted carborundum collagraph monoprint ( Artist proof ) (framed).
I was challenged by a gallery to come up with a print that was specifically about London. It’s a playful take on the ‘Mind the Gap’ slogan which appears with its warning band of yellow on London underground station platforms. We are repeatedly reminded to be wary of the gap between the train and the platform. This cautionary phrase alludes to many situations that are synonymous with London living.

Hand painted woodcut monoprint .A glimpse into a brief encounter, a passing moment. There are times when I find myself able to people watch, unnoticed, through reflections in a window or a glazed surface, for example on trains or in restaurant windows. Sometimes though, you can find yourself trapped in a returned gaze – they’ve caught you staring. This piece is part of the V&A permanent collection A black wood frame complements this piece.
25cm x 20cm
My focus was to highlight the croaked claws and nails on their feet. As beautiful as Magpies are, I wanted to create the dark and mysterious side to these creatures with my colour palate and their expressions.
This piece is available in three different limited edition variants, all unframed:
Colour block linocut – original hand painted artwork – 30cmx20cm £475
Giclee prints – 80cm x 53cm £350, 150cm x 100cm £600 (*special order)
These prints display great accuracy and depth of colour, ensuring faithful reproductions of originals with vivid and saturated colours and will outlast a lithographic print by up to six times.
Aluminium substrate prints – 80cm x 53cm £700
These are printed on to an aluminium surface. The finish is a refined matte one lending the brighter portions of the picture a light sheen. The printing technique produces vivid colours and sharp details while the surface creates a unique artistic finish. The substrate board is backed with a black aluminium frame moulding which gives the appearance of a “floating” artwork.
* these pieces are created to order and may take up to 3 weeks to deliver.
Oil and mixed media on canvas.
A ‘snapshot’ of social display and interaction on a stage full of coloured screens. The plethora of photos I encounter on social media and in fashion magazines inspired this painting. I wanted to play with the body gestures, the poses often adopted when being photographed.
Mixed media monotype on canvas. This piece along with Zeit Geist II is part of a series on heads / portrait images I made on the theme ‘watching you, watching me’. This is a glimpse into a brief encounter, a passing moment viewing and communicating through screens. I built these up in layers of ink paint and printed pattern.
