Painting in miniature is a great way to test ideas and compositions before committing to larger canvases. I enjoyed painting at this size so much that I created a large series of miniatures as final paintings in their own right. Earth Goddess 2 is an alternative painting from my Zodiac series, based on the star sign Virgo. The colours are painted in “reverse”, or inversely, and the lines drawn are drawn in negative space. This is a favourite technique of mine, and appears frequently in my paintings.
A black wood frame complements this piece.
